According to reports, a teenage tourist, believed to be around 16 or 17 years old, died after falling from a cliff swing attraction at Maliuyan Expedition Park in Sichuan province.
The incident reportedly happened on a platform located near a waterfall, above a canyon with a drop of about 168 meters.
Before the ride started, the girl was seen wearing a helmet and safety harness while staff prepared the equipment.
According to viral footage and local reports, she repeatedly warned the workers that the safety rope did not feel tight enough.
But the ride was still allowed to continue.
Moments later, she was pushed out on the swing.
About two seconds after the ride began, the safety mechanism above her reportedly released, and she fell from the cliff.
Emergency services were called, and the teenager was rushed toward the hospital.
But she was pronounced dead on the way.
